Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, my mom woke me up early because we were going on a special trip to the zoo to see all the different animals. I was so excited that I got dressed super quickly, had a big breakfast of pancakes and bacon, and we were out the door before I knew it. When we got to the zoo, the first thing we did was go see the elephants - they're my favorite because they're so big and have really long trunks that can pick up almost anything! We spent a few hours walking around, looking at all the other cool creatures like lions, tigers, monkeys, snakes, and birds before it started getting dark outside.

After leaving the zoo, we stopped to get some ice cream because my mom said I was such a good boy and deserved a treat. I got a triple chocolate sundae that was as big as my head and had hot fudge, sprinkles, whipped cream, and a cherry on top - it was delicious! When we finally made it home, I was pretty tired from all the walking and excitement, so I took a short nap. For dinner, my dad grilled hamburgers and hotdogs in the

backyard and we had a picnic outside since it was such a nice evening. We played some fun games like tag and hide-and-seek until it got too dark to see very well.

On Sunday, I slept in a little late since I was so worn out from our zoo adventure the day before. My parents let me watch cartoons and play video games for a few hours while they did some cleaning and yardwork around the house. In the afternoon, some of my friends from down the street came over and we played outside, running around and having Nerf gun wars until our faces were all red and sweaty. For dinner, we ordered pizza and watched a movie together as a family before bedtime. I had such an awesome weekend full of fun activities! I can't wait to tell my teacher and all my classmates at school tomorrow about my exciting trip to see the animals at the zoo. Weekends are the best!
